My life compared to Scrooge's

It is hard to believe that there is anyone on the planet who is not familiar with the story of A Christmas Carol. I like this novel very much. After you read that, it makes you to think about serious things about which probably you wouldn't think in your busy life.

I was thinking about how this novel can be related to me. Then I realized that probably everybody is like Scrooge sometimes. Of course I'm not the exception.

The first reason is that sometimes we do things very hasty and without thinking is it right or wrong. Usually it happens to me. After I have done something, only then I realize that I was wrong, just like Scrooge. He was very wealthy, but he didn't spend his money for charity at all. He didn't listen to anybody. Only later he understood that he was totally wrong.

The second my coincidence with Scrooge is, that I’m as stubborn as he was. He was told several times to change his life, ghosts came to him to show him that he was a bad person, and that he needs to make some changes in his life. Only after he got scared he understood how wrong he was. When I’m told not to do something or to be aware of, I’m not listening to anybody, because I think that I’m right and they are wrong. As soon as I got in trouble, I realize, that that people where right and they just wanted to help me. After I get in trouble, it makes me to change my mind and to listen to other people, in particular adults.

So, it’s not a curio thing for people to be Scrooge sometimes, but they shouldn’t forget to stay generous and listen to advices that you can receive from other people.

Lessons Learned from a Christmas Carol

      As I read a Christmas Carol, I learned three lessons about life.

      First, I learned that the materialistic world is not as good as an inner world.If you have money, power, it doesn't mean you have to forget about inner world and what's in it. I'm not saying that materialistic world is evil, but it's not not that reach as inner one. On Scrooge example C. Dickens showed us very clearly the different between this two totally opposite worlds.

     Second, I understood that people need help. It doesn't matter, if you are rich or poor. It's ok to need help, because everybody might need help. Sometimes we forget about other people and think only about ourselves, but we have to spend more time helping each other, helping poor people when they need it. After you'll help people you'll see how thankful they will be to you, and you'll notice that you became feel better, because you are brining help!

     Third, maybe the most truthful is that life is too short to waste it on such things. that in future you'll regret. There is no time to spend it on silly little things. After which you'll think why you have done that. You can't just bring time back. We gave to live life day by day, because nobody knows what will happen tomorrow, but before doing something you have to think, not to cause a very big problem for yourself.

     Because of this lessons, I would recommend this novel. Everyone who will read it will understand lots of things, probably of which he/she didn't think for a long time. C. Dickens showed and explain very good such things, as materialism, help, and showed totally opposite site of that things. It will help the reader to think about what he/she has done and maybe change something, when it's not too late.

Matearilistic?

    Scroodge was a materialistic person. He valued money over everything. The brighteset example is, when two gentelment who were collecting money for charity came to Scroodge. They asked Scroodge to share a bit with his wealth for charity. He refused to give the gentelman anything, saying he helps the poor already through supporting prisons and wirkhouses.

    The United States are not materialistic, as for me as an exchange student. I have been living here not for a long time. I'm interested in everything. That is why i pay mych attention to any small or big event, how do people act, how do they react on different things and situations, what values do they have. After four months me of being here I can tell for sure that the United States are not materialistic. The example is from my own experience. What first thing makes you not materialistic? - religion. In my contry we don't spend much time for our religion but we should. After I came here i understood, there is no way for America to be materialistic, while they respect religion this much, and it doesn't mean either you are an adult or a teenager.

    I'm not a materialistic person, thanks to my musical teacher and my parents. From the very young age that there is nothing more important than family and culture. I was growing up in a very good family with high morals and respected parents, who tought me to respect my family, because that is the most important thing in everybody's life. My musical teacher tought me about culture, art, something very high and complicated, that helpes a person to be very inteligent and not to think about materialistic thing. I don't waste a lot of my time on materialistic world, while I know that cultural world is much better and more interesting, and last for ever.

Wounded Warrior Project

     I really didn't know anything about wounded warrior project. The first time when i heard about this project was English class.
     I'm very glad that at least in America i was told about it.
     After i read some articles about this project i learned lots of things:
- how to be brave enough to survive after u were almost destroyed;
- after this tragedies we develop mutual understanding;
- never give up and to dwell your life, instead of wasting it on complaining;
- if you keep your courage and strength of will you can overcome most of the difficulties in your life.
     Personal for me it is very important for us to participate in such projects and to know about this people. They need our help and they should know that if they are disabled or have other problems-they won't ever be alone.

9.11 has had little impact on my life.

     9.11 has had little impact on my life.
     I live in Ukraine. It is very far from America. Usually, as every country, my country has its own problems. People interested more in what is going on in their country.
     Accident my parents saw it in the news. Everybody was talking about it. People were not pleased that it happened. As we are too far from America it didn't effects us.
     I was 8 years old when that tragedy happened. I was watching cartoons instead of watching news. Sure thing I didn't know anything about politic. I think that that is not what kids should know.
     As an ordinary child I wasn't interested in such things, like terrorists and other what was going on in the world. It may effect badly and bring harm to a child.
     All this is very serious. The terrorist attack that happened in America on 9.11 was too serious for me. Sometimes it's better not to know about this when you are only 8 years old.
     My parents decided not to tell me this. Probably i also wouldn't understand it or wouldn't believe. I'm glad they didn't tell me anything about how  violence there is in this world. So that i could have a happy childhood.
     Now i'm much more older then i used to be and can understand quite well sad was that occasion.

War is

War is needed, protecting our rights.
War is violince, damaging children.
War is a disaster, destroying people's lifes.
War is when hundreds of thousands of human being dying, strugling.
War is destroying people's home and work places, leaving them without any opportunity to survive.
War is tragedy, making people strugle a lot.
War is pain, fear for the rest of people's life.
War is when lots of humans are being destroyed as a person.
War is millions of people separated forever from the ones they loved.
War is when children or grandchildren are dying before they're even fully adults, or live with real fear.
War is ending of careers, meant as much to others as your career means to you.
